The 6th SAMWAD dialogue, organized by Friends of MSMEs in Parliament and facilitated by FISME (Secretariat for the forum) on November 27, 2024, brought together MPs to address challenges facing MSMEs.
Discussions centered on MSMEs’ difficulties with banks and regulations, with members stressing the need to revive the sector and promote self-employment. Concerns regarding SMA provisions and pending arbitration cases were raised.
MPs emphasized the need for “Friends of MSMEs in Parliament” to assume a mentorship role. While acknowledging the government’s track record of responsiveness, participants highlighted the critical issue of unemployment and proposed the establishment of committees to address banking/finance and regulatory challenges.
