The ‘Friends of MSMEs in Parliament’ group recently convened its fifth dialogue, or ‘Samwad’, with MSME representatives. This platform, formed in 2023 to address the challenges faced by MSMEs, has been instrumental in resolving long-standing issues.
The group aims to bridge the gap between MSMEs and Parliament, leveraging parliamentary institutions to find solutions. The 5th Samwad focused on identifying growth drivers for the MSME sector to contribute to India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Shankar Lalwani has been appointed as the new Chairman of the group, with Rajendra Agrawal continuing as Convenor. The forum has successfully resolved issues related to SMA classification, BLR ratings, and delayed payments.
FISME serves as the secretariat for the group.
