As the secretariat of forum ‘Friends of MSMEs in Parliament’, FISME hosted a dialogue session with Parliamentarians during the ongoing Monsoon session of the Parliament. The meeting was convened by senior Member of Parliament and third time MP from Meerut Shri Rajendra Agrawal. On behalf of MSMEs, FISME raised three issues to be taken by MPs using Parliamentary committees viz. Imposition of prepayment/ foreclosure charges by Banks; Replacement of Bank Guarantees during Public procurement by Insurance Sureties as has been done in case of NHAI projects and review and reforms in BLR rating process mandated by RBI. Brochure for ‘Friends of MSMEs in Parliament’ was shared with the members of the forum.
Proposed Activities
- Meet of the Forum members with MSME leaders before/ during Sessions: To gather feedback on contemporary issues being faced by MSMEs.
- News Letter to be published after every session: Capturing initiatives of the Forum for MSMEs carrying remarks of Members of Parliament. Newsletter to be sent to all MPs, Ministries & imp. Institutions.
- Brochure: A brochure is published explaining the background and objective of setting up ‘Friends of MSMEs
- Website & social media: A dynamic website to be created to inform the stakeholders about the Forum and its objectives and also gather feedback on various policies/ issues.
- News and Video interviews KNN Studio: Activities of Forum to be broadcast through KNN (MSME focused internet media) Interviews of Members of the Forum by KNN.
